- Holding the camera straight as these matters a lot, clicking a photograph tilted looks horrible especially when it is a landscape.
- Choosing the correct “SHOOT MODE” is important to get the ultimate touch of the photograph.
- Adjust the white balance in the camera as without it the brightness might be too much for the photograph that has been clicked.
- Change the “EFFECTS” if you are planning to make some experiments with your photography.
- Now time to focus at the subject, make sure the subject is visible clearly and not getting covered by something or something else is getting focused instead of the main subject.
- After all these it is the time for the main job of clicking the photograph and that is not to shake the mobile at all and if possible to take support.
- Then take a look at the picture, if satisfied with the picture then time to move on for the next photograph.
- Finally time to edit the photo, no to worry at all if you don’t know to use Abode Photoshop then use PICASA3 as it is very much user friendly and satisfies almost all the requirements.
- Photos taken in mobile phone (2 megapixel) are good enough to take 4"X6" prints.
- These are enough for an amateur.

SWINE FLU IT'S SYMPTOMS AND VACCINE
What swine flu actually is?
Swine Influenza (swine flu) is a respiratory disease of pigs caused by type A influenza virus that regularly causes outbreaks of influenza in pigs. People usually do not get swine flu, though there have been a few cases reported in persons working in close proximity with pigs. Since the virus from the pigs has to mutate so it can infect humans, and because people do not usually contract the virus, they have no immunity against it. So when they do contract it, it can become hazardous. It is contagious, and spreads from human-to-human contact easily.
How do symptoms of swine flu differ from other types of flu?
Not much. The basic symptoms for swine flu are similar to the seasonal flu, which may include
- fever
- sore throat
- cough
- stuffy nose
- chills
- headache and body aches
- fatigue
- and sometimes vomiting and diarrhoea.
How does it spread?
The virus is actually transmitted by airborne droplets from an infected person’s sneeze or cough; or from germs on hands.
Is there medication or a vaccine for swine flu?
The vaccine is being developed and will not be available for the next several months. Medications are available not only to treat the infection but also to prevent the disease. But these medications need to be used under a physician’s guidance.
How can human infections with swine influenza be diagnosed?
To diagnose swine influenza A infection, a respiratory specimen would need to be collected within the first 4 to 5 days of illness (when an infected person is most likely to be shedding virus). However, some persons, especially children, may shed virus for 7 days or longer.
What can I do to prevent infection?
- Avoid contact with people who are sick
- Wash your hands frequently with soap and water
- Try to stay in good health and be physically active
- Cover your mouth when you sneeze or cough
- Stay at home if you are ill.
- If you develop symptoms suggesting the flu, stay away from work or public transportation, call and see a doctor immediately
Is it safe to eat pork and pork products?
Yes. The virus is killed by cooking temperatures of 160 F/ 70C
Is it safe to travel?
As of now there are no travel restrictions. Limiting travel would have little effect on stopping the virus from spreading, but would be highly disruptive to the global community. The focus now is on minimizing the impact of the virus. The current swine flu alert sweeping across the globe has health organizations doing their best to prevent a full-blown pandemic. The challenge for them is to prevent the virus from crossing borders and infecting their populations.
Since symptoms mimic those for common flu, for a layperson, it is hard to tell them apart.
Treatment
If diagnosed early, swine flu is easy to treat, so there is no need for panic. The US Centre for Disease Control and Prevention and the WHO recommend the use of Tamiflu (oseltamivir) or Relenza (zanamivir) for treating swine flu.
Prevention
A new virus being developed is slated to be available only mid-2009. Till then, adequate precautions against infection are absolutely essential in order to prevent a global pandemic.
Prevention of human to human transmission
• Frequent washing of hands with soap and water or with alcohol based hand sensitizers, especially after being out in the public.
• Anyone with flu-like symptoms such as sudden fever, cough or muscle aches should stay away from work or public transportation, and contact a doctor to be tested. B

Basic Photography
Photography is way of expressing the brilliant ideas hidden inside of imagining a thing which generally cannot be thought by others. As it looks photography is not easy. In this digital world any one can compete with a professional photographer due to the availability of the DIGITAL SINGLE-LENS REFLEX camera (digital SLR or DSLR) cameras, these are the cameras which gives almost equal quality photography as that of those SLR camera. Present day DSLR cameras give up to 26X optical zoom, which is more than enough for those who wants to get superb photographs.
The trend of buying a higher mega-pixel camera is very high but at the same time what we need to know is 2 mega pixel camera is enough for a 4 X 6” print out which gives a 1600 X 1200 resolution print out which is pretty descent for occasional/ part time photographic use. Actually speaking buying a 6 mega-pixel camera is enough for the above said uses. While buying a new camera the attention must be given to the optical zoom and not to digital zoom, the features available in it like the ISO or the image stability or the battery life or the available memory space including expandable memory. Finally last but not the least is the reaction time that is the time taken by the camera to get ready once a photo has been clicked.
Once ready with the camera, its time to start taking pictures. Some sites get arranged naturally and some has to be created as per requirements. The more we click pictures the more we get familiar with the features associated with the camera.
When taking photograph the following points to be taken care of :
· There shouldn’t be anything behind the subject as that will appear as though it's growing out of their head.
· Holding the camera level - as there's nothing worse than a landscape with a wonky horizon.
· It’s better to take the portrait photographs holding the camera vertically.
· Low light landscapes must be taken with flash off and keeping ISO 800, 1600 and above - useful for taking photos in very low light, or outside in good light when increased shutter speeds are required.
· Keeping the subject at the centre of the photo.
· Carry the camera always as you never know when you can take a picture.
· Take more than one photo (if digital), for keeping an option to choose the best one.
Once when the photos are ready, get started with the editing as it is the most important part of photography. If you don’t know to use Adobe PHOTOSHOP you need not have to worry, you can download PICASA3 in your computer/ laptop and FORGET ABOUT ALL THE ABOVE as it provides all the required changes you want to make once you have taken the photos.
So keep taking photos and keep sharing the same with your friends to get the feed backs from them and in this way your faults (if any) can be rectified.
KEEP CLICKING.

THE BEST TEACHER EVER
All it started with the great confusion of whether to take computer science or biology after my tenth boards as I was a CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) student. It was me who has to choose as my parents were comfortable with the subject I was comfortable. So finally after a lot of thinking and speaking to my seniors i finally made my mind to opt for Computer Science for my eleventh and twelfth standard.
Except a few students in our class no one had even an idea about the subject which we had taken to continue with our studies, as it was totally a different subject for us. Yes, we were nervous at the beginning but when we started we became much more comfortable. We were to learn about the olden day’s computers and all those stuff as these were in our first few chapters. Then the real part of C++ language started to chase us when we entered the commands of C++, those were the tedious things of all time. The commands like “cin>>” or the “cout<<” “>>” commands were more complicated. Then the time changed significantly when Mr. Venu Gopala Rao sir (PGT) joined our Vidyalaya and made the difference.
Then we learnt every single detail that was there in our syllabus. Sir was available throughout the two years. He said, “Don’t sleep till the time you clear your doubts, call me whenever you have a doubt”. The way he supported throughout these two years made us to achieve what was tough to achieve. Our overall performance in the year 2008 - 2009 (batch) was second in computer science throughout the CHENNAI REGION. That is the biggest achievement as we feel. The highest mark scored was 97/100 by S.SUBRAMANIYAM.
Sir always helped us in all the possible means like extra classes to make sure that we are ahead of the syllabus and enough time in the end to do enough revision the best part was everything went as planned. A big role was played by our school Principal Mrs. C.M. SREEKUMARI who made everything look simple by providing us with the new computer lab with brand new computers, few projectors and lots more. We all are (my classmates) are really thank full to her.
Coming back to sir, he was more like a friend than a teacher. In the class he always used to join us in all our silly jokes and many times even he used to crack some of them. Mr. K. PRASHANT and was the most notorious student of the class as making a comment in everything was his habit, he never used to hurt anyone with his comments but most of the time his comments were not used to be funny. Everyday computer period used to be the best. Finally what I have learnt after all this is that TEACHRERS AND LEADERS CAN ALWAYS DO THE MIRACLE. So friends any doubt or queries in C or C++ can post their doubts below.
Thank you.

Plastics the evil
The more we use plastics the more we are making our own land as our grave. It’s not, that we don’t know about the harm that the plastics are making day by day but still why...... why are we not acting against it? Why don’t we eliminate use of plastics from our daily life? That’s true that there are still some areas in our life from where the uses of plastics cannot be avoided. Nothing to worry about that part as the more we avoid use of plastics the more we secure our self.
We all know that the use of plastics is decreasing land efficiency to produce more crops, increase in the amount of soil erosion. GOVERNMENT OF INDIA can always make the difference in all the fields of pollution and not only that of plastics. GOVERNMENT OF INDIA can stop the production of plastics, mainly the polythene bags which is easily available in the market for very low price. These are the one which are not reusable, hence after using once itself these are thrown.
Paper packets or nylon bags can be used to in place of the polythene bags. As paper bags are bio-degradable and nylon bags can be used for much larger number of times. Use of paper packets will also encourage the poor’s to earn little amount of money. As in most of the cases it is going to be the poor people who make these packets. The things must be done are always not given importance. Finally I want to say that,” LET US COME TOGETHER TO MAKE OUR ENVIRONMENT A BETTER PLACE TO LIVE IN”.
